This not not addressed to anyone nor signed. I'm assuming it is Edwin writing to Anna. He refers to the female as love, only love. Discusses his feelings about love. The envelope says "Reminder of Spring 1905."

California poet. Raised near Vacaville, became a schoolteacher in Coloma and later in Oakland. Became famous overnight with publication of "The Man with a Hoe," his protest against brutalization of labor, in "San Francisco Examiner" (January 15, 1899). Following this success Markham moved to New York where he scored another triumph with "Lincoln and Other Poems" (1901). He became a well-known reader of his own poems and lecturer of idealistic views, but his creative output for remainder of life ...
